The art of NES sprite change is to use at least 8 colors only, no shades at all. But what i do is use the colors of Mario or other NES sprites. For example i will be NES sprite changing Geno because i can't seem to find any NES Geno sprites. Also sprites shouldn't have a black out line but they can if you want, but it has to be 8 colors. An example of a NES sprite change is this sheet of mallow:

Alright lets start:
step 1 find sprites
NESification  Geno
step 2 get the colors
(NOTE: You can use the colors off a NES sprite if you want to use a different sprite, for example Koopa. The colors of the shell is from the shell from the NES Koopa Troopa. NESification  Idle26 Also get the colors off of other NES games. Sprite links: http://sdb.drshnaps.com/ and http://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/
i'm going to use the colors of mario and the mallow sprites.
NESification  Step1a
step 3 recolor
use different colors for the seperation of legs or something else. Because if you use the same color for something next to each other it won't look good.

step 4 you should be done
before and after
NESification  Beforeandafterk

Megaman sprites should have a black out line, Mario sprites shouldn't but they can. Everything else you have black out line or No out line. If you need any help post your sprite below and i will NES sprite change it.
